Quality in research compounds is not a single attribute — it is a chain of decisions across supplier selection, synthesis verification, batch testing, storage, cold-chain logistics, and customer documentation. A compound that starts at ≥99% purity at the manufacturer can arrive at a researcher's facility significantly degraded if any link in that chain fails. This guide explains how JuicedPharma approaches each link, what standards we hold ourselves to, and why these standards matter for research outcomes.
Supplier Selection Criteria#
JuicedPharma does not source compounds from any manufacturer that cannot provide:
- Synthesis documentation: Full synthesis route, SPPS resin/protecting group specification, and cleavage/purification conditions for peptides; certified manufacturing process for GLP-1 agonists and complex molecules
- Manufacturing COA: Manufacturer's own analytical data for the batch (HPLC + MS minimum)
- Stability data: Storage condition recommendations with documented stability curves (purity vs. time at each storage temperature)
- Endotoxin control evidence: Documentation of endotoxin testing at manufacturing stage
Manufacturer COA data is treated as preliminary — all compounds are independently retested by Janoshik before distribution. Manufacturer documentation informs our acceptance criteria but never substitutes for independent verification.
Our Testing Requirements by Compound Category#
Synthetic Peptides (MW <3,000 Da)#
Examples: BPC-157, TB-500, Ipamorelin, CJC-1295, PT-141, Melanotan II, SS-31
| Test | Method | JuicedPharma Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Purity | RP-HPLC (area%) | ≥98% |
| Identity | ESI-MS | MW within 0.1 Da of theoretical |
| Endotoxin | LAL chromogenic | <1 EU/mg |
| Residual TFA | Ion-exchange HPLC | <0.1% (TFA exchanged to acetate where applicable) |
TFA (trifluoroacetic acid) note: SPPS uses TFA as a cleavage reagent. Residual TFA in lyophilized peptide powder is cytotoxic in cell culture — relevant for in vitro research. We specify TFA content on COAs for compounds used in cell-based assays.
What ≥98% HPLC purity means in practice: For a typical research peptide reconstituted to 1 mg/mL, ≥98% purity means no more than 20 μg/mL of non-target material. In a cell culture experiment at 100 ng/mL working concentration, contaminating impurities are present at ≤2 ng/mL — below the concentration of most pharmacologically active contaminants.
Large Peptide / Acylated GLP-1 Agonists (MW 2,000–5,000 Da)#
Examples: Semaglutide (4,113 Da), Tirzepatide (4,814 Da), Retatrutide (~4,900 Da)
| Test | Method | JuicedPharma Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Purity | RP-HPLC | ≥98% |
| Identity | LC-MS/MS (full molecular weight + fragment ions) | MW within 0.2 Da; key fragment ions confirmed |
| Acylation integrity | LC-MS fragment analysis | Acylation site present; no hydrolysis products |
| Endotoxin | LAL | <0.5 EU/mg |
Why LC-MS/MS rather than simple ESI-MS: At 4,000+ Da, simple ESI-MS may be ambiguous — truncated or extended sequences can be very close in mass to the authentic compound. LC-MS/MS (tandem MS with fragmentation) provides sequence-level confirmation, not just molecular weight confirmation. This is non-negotiable for GLP-1 agonist identity verification.
Oil-Based Injectable Androgens#
Examples: Testosterone Enanthate, Nandrolone Decanoate, Trenbolone Enanthate, Boldenone Undecylenate
| Test | Method | JuicedPharma Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Active compound purity | HPLC | ≥97% |
| Concentration accuracy | HPLC quantification | Stated mg/mL ± 5% |
| Identity | MS | Confirmed |
| Endotoxin | LAL | <0.5 EU/mL |
| Sterility | 0.22 μm filtration record | Documentation required |
| BA/BB composition | GC-MS | Benzyl alcohol 2% ± 0.2%; BB as stated |
Concentration accuracy: For injectables, the stated concentration (e.g., 250 mg/mL testosterone enanthate) must be accurately verified by HPLC quantification. Under- or over-concentration affects research dosing calculations. We hold to ±5% of stated concentration.
Oral Research Compounds#
Examples: Anastrozole, Tamoxifen, Clomiphene, Stanozolol oral, Oxandrolone
| Test | Method | JuicedPharma Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Purity | HPLC | ≥98% |
| Identity | MS | Confirmed |
| Dissolution (tablets) | USP dissolution test | ≥80% in 30 min |
Cold Chain and Storage Standards#
Compound integrity between synthesis and research use depends on storage temperature. Our cold chain standards:
In-facility storage:
- Lyophilized peptides: -20°C, dark storage, humidity-controlled environment
- GLP-1 agonists: -20°C (not refrigerator-temperature; 2–8°C accelerates degradation over weeks)
- Oil injectables: 15–25°C, dark storage (oils degrade at elevated temperatures; refrigeration causes precipitation)
- Oral compounds: 15–25°C, hermetically sealed
Shipping:
- Peptides: shipped with gel ice packs or dry ice for transit times exceeding 24 hours
- GLP-1 agonists: always shipped with dry ice regardless of transit time
- Oil injectables: ambient shipping acceptable for transit <5 days; gel packs for longer transit
Each shipment includes:
- Insulated packaging appropriate to compound category
- Temperature indicator (freeze-indicator strip or temperature logger for GLP-1 orders)
- Batch number matching the published COA
- QR code for COA verification
The Verification System#
Every JuicedPharma product is traceable from synthesis batch to the researcher:
Batch number → COA → Janoshik verification:
- Each product is labeled with a batch number
- The batch number is indexed on our website with the corresponding Janoshik report URL
- The Janoshik QR code on the COA document links to the publicly accessible Janoshik report
- The researcher scans the QR code → verifies the report exists, is genuine (Janoshik portal), matches the compound and batch number, and shows results meeting our published standards
What this verification system prevents:
- Counterfeit COAs (QR code must link to Janoshik's own server)
- Generic COAs applied to multiple batches (batch number specificity)
- In-house testing passed off as third-party (Janoshik's laboratory identity is verifiable)
Our Purity Commitment in Numbers#
| Compound Category | Minimum Purity We Ship | Industry Norm |
|---|---|---|
| Research peptides | ≥98% HPLC | 95–98% |
| GLP-1 agonists | ≥98% HPLC | 95–97% |
| Injectable androgens | ≥97% (active compound) | 95–97% |
| Oral research compounds | ≥98% HPLC | 95–98% |
| Endotoxin (peptides) | <1 EU/mg | <5 EU/mg (commonly stated) |
| Endotoxin (injectables) | <0.5 EU/mL | <2 EU/mL |
We hold higher endotoxin standards than many EU competitors because endotoxin contamination in in-vivo research models produces confounding inflammatory responses. If a researcher's experiment shows unexpected inflammation, endotoxin-contaminated compounds are a possible confounder that valid quality standards eliminate.
Ipamorelin, €51 · 99.5% purityWhy Quality Investment Is Not Optional for Research#
A research experiment using a compound that is 85% pure (with 15% unknown impurities) is not studying that compound — it is studying a mixture. If the experiment produces an effect, the impurities may be responsible. If it produces no effect, the active compound may have been diluted past its effective concentration. Neither outcome is attributable to the named compound.
This is not a hypothetical concern. The research compound field has examples of published studies later questioned because the compound used was retrospectively found to be impure or misidentified. Quality compounds are the prerequisite for valid science.
JuicedPharma's quality standards exist not as a competitive differentiation claim, but because we believe the research purpose our compounds serve requires nothing less.
