Research compound quality is not self-certifying. A supplier's claim that a product is "99% pure" or "pharmaceutical grade" is scientifically meaningless unless supported by documented third-party analytical evidence with verifiable chain of custody. JuicedPharma's commitment to laboratory transparency is built on one principle: every product lot shipped to a researcher has a corresponding publicly accessible Certificate of Analysis from an independent, accredited laboratory — not an in-house test, not a manufacturer's declaration.
Why Third-Party Testing Matters#
The conflict of interest problem:
A supplier who performs their own quality testing has a direct financial incentive to report favorable results. This is not hypothetical — the research compound market has documented examples of in-house "98% purity" COAs that, when independently retested, showed:
- Actual purity below 85%
- Misidentified compounds (wrong peptide sequence)
- Endotoxin contamination above safe research thresholds
- Incorrect molecular weight (truncated or extended sequences)
Third-party testing eliminates the conflict. When JuicedPharma sends a sample to Janoshik, the laboratory has no financial relationship with the test result — their income comes from the testing fee, not from reporting a positive outcome.
Our Testing Standards by Compound Type#
Peptides (BPC-157, TB-500, Ipamorelin, CJC-1295, etc.)#
| Test | Method | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Purity | HPLC (area%) | ≥98% for injectable-grade; ≥95% for other research use |
| Identity | ESI-MS or MALDI-TOF | Molecular weight within 0.1 Da of theoretical |
| Endotoxin | LAL (Limulus Amebocyte Lysate) | <1 EU/mg for injectable research compounds |
| Residual solvents | GC-MS or HPLC | Below ICH Q3C Class 2 limits |
How HPLC purity is measured: The chromatographic peak for the target peptide is integrated; purity = (target peak area / total peak area) × 100. Any peak that is not the target compound — synthesis byproducts, deletion sequences, protected amino acid fragments — reduces purity. A genuine ≥98% HPLC result means less than 2% of the material is anything other than the target peptide.
Why identity testing matters independently of purity: A compound can be "98% pure" and still be the wrong compound. ESI-MS confirms the molecular weight, ruling out misidentification (wrong peptide) or truncated sequences that could produce the same HPLC retention time as the genuine compound.
GLP-1 Agonists (Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Retatrutide)#
GLP-1 agonists are larger, more structurally complex molecules (semaglutide MW: 4113.58 Da) than typical small peptides. Our testing requirements are correspondingly more stringent:
- LC-MS/MS: Required for identity confirmation (simple ESI-MS insufficient for molecules of this size and complexity)
- Purity by RP-HPLC: ≥98%
- Desamidation check: Amide groups in the peptide backbone can spontaneously deamidate during storage → potency loss; tested by LC-MS
- Acylation site integrity: Semaglutide's Lys26 C18 fatty diacid acylation is critical for albumin binding and extended half-life; confirmed by MS fragment ion analysis
Injectables (Testosterone, Nandrolone, Trenbolone, etc.)#
Oil-based injectable compounds require additional testing parameters beyond purity:
- Concentration accuracy: Stated mg/mL must match measured concentration ±5%
- Sterility: 0.22 μm filtration (sterile filtration, not heat sterilization which degrades androgens)
- Endotoxin: ≤0.5 EU/mL for injectable oils (lower threshold than mg/mg for peptides)
- Vehicle composition: Benzyl alcohol (2%) and benzyl benzoate (ratios) stated on COA; residual solvents checked
How to Verify a JuicedPharma COA#
Every JuicedPharma product batch ships with:
- A QR code on the product label or documentation insert that links directly to the Janoshik report URL
- The Janoshik order number — visible on the COA header, searchable at janoshik.com to confirm the report is genuine
- Batch number cross-reference — the COA batch number matches the batch number on the product label
Step-by-step verification:
- Scan the QR code or navigate to the Janoshik URL on the COA
- The Janoshik portal displays the report — verify the client order number matches
- Check that the compound tested matches what you received (compound name, molecular weight)
- Review the HPLC chromatogram image (should show a clean primary peak; no large secondary peaks)
- Review the MS spectrum — the m/z ions should match theoretical for the compound's molecular weight
- Check the endotoxin result (EU/mg or EU/mL depending on compound type)
Red flags in any COA:
- No laboratory accreditation number or certificate reference
- "In-house testing" or supplier's own lab listed
- Missing MS identity data (purity only)
- No endotoxin data for injectable compounds
- QR code that does not link to the testing laboratory's own portal
Our Janoshik Partnership#
Janoshik is a Czech Republic-based analytical chemistry laboratory specializing in research compound testing. Key facts about Janoshik:
- ISO/IEC 17025 accredited (international standard for testing laboratory competence)
- Specializes in peptide and small molecule HPLC, MS, and endotoxin testing
- Publishes results in a searchable online portal with unique QR codes for each order
- No commercial relationship with suppliers — Janoshik income is from testing fees only
- Results cannot be altered post-publication; the portal maintains audit logs
Why Janoshik specifically: The combination of specialization in research compound testing, the publicly accessible verifiable QR system, and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation makes Janoshik the most trusted third-party testing resource for European research compound suppliers. We have also supplemented Janoshik testing with NMR analysis for selected compounds where structural confirmation beyond MS is warranted.
Transparency as Research Integrity#
Research conducted with unverified compounds produces unreliable results. An experiment using a peptide that is actually 78% purity with unknown impurities cannot be attributed to the target compound — the impurities may be pharmacologically active, confounding every endpoint measured. This is not a theoretical concern: published peer-reviewed papers have been retracted or questioned when the research compounds used were subsequently found to be impure or misidentified.
JuicedPharma's COA commitment is not a marketing position — it is the minimum standard for compounds that are appropriate for use in legitimate research.
