Viagr-ON (Sildenafil Citrate) is the original phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor — the active compound in Viagra — that established the therapeutic mechanism of cGMP-mediated smooth muscle relaxation for erectile function research. Inhibits PDE5 in penile corpus cavernosum, preventing breakdown of NO-generated cGMP and maintaining smooth muscle relaxation and inflow. With a 3–5 hour active window and faster onset than tadalafil, sildenafil remains the benchmark compound for PDE5 inhibition research and acute erectile dysfunction models.
